Critical thinking assignment

Thinker Chapter2 Lesson 2:  Setting goals and creating a plan to achieve them.

1. Family: Short-Term: One of my family goals I am working on is being a better older sister.

Steps: Make it a point to be involved in their daily lives by playing with them and showing interested in things they like. I can also show and teach them things that I like.

Long-Term :I want to not only be nicer, but a better role model for them.

Steps: I know they are watching what I do, so I need to make sure I am a good example. My actions need to reflect kindness, compassion, love, grace, and forgiveness. That is the only way they are going to learn from me. If I am irritated with them all the time and push them away, that is how they are going to act toward others. If I want them to do better then I have to do better.

2.School: Short-term: My current goal in school is to finish this school year early. The regular school year ends the end of May. I want to finish by the end of March.
Steps: I need to work daily on my assignments. Sometimes I have to say no to fun things like going out with friends. I have to stay focused so I can have a longer summer.

Long-term: I want to finish high school by the age of 16.

Steps: I will work hard and really fast so I can finish high school at the age of 16. I want to get all A's and B's so I can finish early. I know this will be hard and take a long time but I am ready for the challenge.

3.Faith: Short-term: I want to relearn the books of the bible.

Steps:  I am going to use my memorization skills and create a song or a poem to set it in my mind.

Long-term: I want to be able to speak Gods word with accuracy and confidence where ever I go.

Steps: I am going to read the bible daily and continue to go to Sunday school every week.

4.Hobbies: Short-term: I want to learn to draw better.

Steps: I have some books that teach me how to draw the basics. I am going to learn something new every day. I have also found some how to tutorials on line.

Long-term: I want to be an illustrator.

Steps: In the future I want to take art classes and some computer animation classes.

5.Travel: Short-term: I want to learn about all the states in America.

Steps: I will go to the libary/online and research and all the states in America.

Long-term: I want to travel to all the states in America.

Steps: I need to save up money from my job when I am older so I can afford to travel.

Part III: Reflection

I have learned creating goals is important because it helps you stay focused. However, it is most important to create a plan of action to be able to achieve your goals.  Goals have to have actions behind them or they just become dreams that never happen. I have already started on goals for my future.  I want to become an illustrator for books and magazines.

Me

Hi I'm Ella and this is my life.  I have been home schooled all my life.  Yes, I'm the weird, unsocialized, unschooled person that has never ridden a bus! Actually, I think I'm quite normal, but those kids that ride that bus every morning....now that's a different story.  Baaa,Haa,Haa, I kid, I kid! Seriously, to each their own, whatever floats your boat. Now lets get back to me and this blog.  I will be sharing some of the work I do in school, maybe some field trip pictures, family stuff, and maybe I'll even let  you see some of my drawings. That's one of the things I like to do in my spare time.  I also like to write short stories, play computer games, read books and comics.  Recently, I've gotten into Japanese anime.  I like to think of myself as a cool geek girl a.k.a Geek Chic.  This is me Ella.
